Hub

A good quality Hub Page is of utmost importance if you are hoping to make any impression in your niche.

Following are some of the qualities that constitute a good hubpage.

1. Your Hub must be created around original content for it to get a good hub score.

2. According to Mark Knowles you need a minimum of 1500 words in your article and it must be original

3. You need to add some videos to it – recommended 3 per hub

4. You need to add some images to it. Images will brighten up your pages and make it easier to read.

5. You need to have links to other useful resources related to your niche. You can use these links in your article or in the Links capsule

6. You need to use tags. Tags are just grouped keywords that describe your topic. People who search for these tags will be sent to your site if your site is rated good enough. The tags are found on the right hand side of your hub page. It is recommended to have at least 15 relevant tags for your site.

7. Your site needs an introductory text (unde the settings at the top of the page when you are in edit mode) You can either write your own original description or tick the box to pick up the first few lines of your hub content.

8. You need to organise your hub so that it looks pleasing to the eye. Visitors will quickly click away from a disorganised page. You can re-order your capsules by using the Capsule Ordering facility on the right hand side of your hub page

9. Try and break up your articles with images and heading text. Nobody will want to read an article that looks like it is just miles of typing.

10. You are allowed to place links to your own sites if you have any. Don’t overdo these links though because your hub will get flagged as being overly promoting the same site.

11. If your niche allows, place an RSS Capsule or a News Capsule with links to sources relevant to your site.

11. Be original and try and make your hub a place that people will want to visit. Try and jazz it up with a funny quote, a little joke or funny pic. People like humour!
